Welcome to Sundsvall Municipality!
Sundsvall Municipality is one of the largest employers in Norrland with around 8,000 employees and over 300 professions. Together, we fulfill one of the most important missions in society – to create benefit and value for residents, businesses, and future generations. Regardless of our activities, we work towards the same goal: to be a great place to live, work, and thrive.
We are currently in an exciting phase of development. We are a pioneer in digital development and artificial intelligence, leading the effort to create smart solutions for the public sector of the future.
Sundsvall plays a central role in the green transition in northern Sweden. We are convinced that the right places for this transition are here. As a municipality, we are preparing to grow by preparing land, creating new educational opportunities, marketing the municipality, and welcoming new residents from around the world.
Your New Workplace
Do you want to work with children and youth, with play and activities, in a historical environment? We are looking for a supervisor for the summer activities at Norra Berget, Sundsvall's outdoor museum.
Norra Berget is one of the most popular destinations in the Sundsvall region, a place for play, learning, recreation, and experiences all year round. Here you will find historical houses and farms from Medelpad, gardens and crops, native livestock, barbecue areas, and several places for children to play. There are also shops, cafes, a restaurant, a hostel, and a community-driven museum.
Your Contribution as a Supervisor
During the summer, a number of Sundsvall Municipality's summer workers (high school age) will be with us. The role of the supervisor is to guide the summer workers and participate in the work of hospitality, activities, and practical tasks in our outdoor environments.
The supervisor is part of a team consisting of a pedagogue and two supervisors, who together with Norra Berget's staff and Sundsvall Municipality's summer workers staff the summer activities. Together, you will bring Norra Berget to life and invite children and youth to play and activities based on our historical environments. Part of the time, you will work in historical clothing.
The supervisor works 80%, from week 24 to week 33. The work is scheduled with shifts every other weekend.
The tasks are primarily carried out in Norra Berget's outdoor environments and require physical activity. Animals, hay, and straw are present at the workplace.
Your Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- education focused on pedagogy, leadership, or equivalent that we assess as comparable
- experience working with children/youth
- good Swedish and English skills
- driver's license B
As a person, we wish for you to be self-sufficient, structured, and confident in yourself, have an easy time collaborating, and understand the importance of good hospitality.
It is advantageous if you have worked in a museum, preferably an outdoor museum, and have experience in leadership/supervision, and/or work in activities for children and youth. Additional language skills are a plus.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
About the Recruitment Process
Upon employment, you will need to present an extract from the police criminal record for work with children in activities other than school and childcare.
